The client requested a sophisticated and modern logo for their craft beer brewery to be inspired by California and the Interstate 5 highway that runs through it (as well as beer, of course). I decided to make two versions of the logo – a simple version for smaller applications and practical use (letterheads, website, etc.) and a more detailed version to be used larger as more of a decoration on promotional materials (coasters, advertisements, signage, etc.). This allowed me to keep the main logo simple and clean, using just a stylized hop illustration pointing North. The more detailed logo adds mountains, palm trees, ocean, and the highway to satisfy the client’s request to use multiple image references.
